Jasper Wireless and Rogers Wireless (News - Alert), a provider of wireless voice and data communications services across Canada, have entered into a multi-year, exclusive agreement to wirelessly connect consumer electronics and machine-to-machine, or “M2M,” devices. 

This partnership is expected to help Rogers Wireless to accelerate market entry for new categories of connected devices such as personal navigation and e-readers.

Nelson said that this platform coupled with Rogers’ proven, most reliable GPRS/EDGE/HSPA network provides an M2M customer experience second to none in the Canadian market.

Additionally, Mohammad said that this partnership makes it possible for device manufacturers to grow their business into the Canadian market successfully. 

Jasper Wireless enables mobile network operators around the world with platform, applications, and design services to serve the emerging M2M and embedded devices markets. 

Using the company’s unique end-to-end solution, network operators and enterprises can scale their deployment of connected devices quickly and profitably. 

In July, AT&T (News - Alert) and Jasper Wireless announced the commercial availability of a combined platform to connect and support a variety of emerging consumer electronic and business devices on AT&T’s nationwide wireless network. 

The multiyear agreement, announced in May, will enable the wireless connection of personal navigation, in-car navigation, e-readers, mobile Internet devices, gaming, healthcare, tracking, and other devices. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

The platform—AT&T Control Center, powered by Jasper Wireless—will accelerate market entry for connected devices while offering unique features such as instant activation and flexible rate plans that benefit device manufacturers and end-user customers, including consumers, small businesses and enterprises.
