announced that it is working with femtocell providers Ubiquisys Ltd. and Huawei Technologies on interoperability testing, which will take place at the service provider’s labs over the next six months. The two vendors’ femtocells will communicate via the 3GPP’s new Iuh standardized open interface and connected to a Huawei femto gateway into T-Mobile’s core network.

reported that Control4’s Suite Systems are being used to enhance the experience in more than 4,300 guest rooms in the ARIA Resort & Casino and Mandarin Oriental at CityCenter, Las Vegas. Control4 develops software and hardware for controlling virtually any room, home or building from anywhere at any time. The Control4 Suite enables guests to control every aspect of the room environment and also interact with entertainment and hotel services. covered the release of a new Frost & Sullivan (

Alert) report predicting that the number of devices connected to the Internet via service provider networks will grow substantially in the upcoming years. Industry predictions range from the tens of billions to one trillion connected devices, depending on definitions used. “Hyper-connectivity,” the “everywhere-anytime Internet” and “smart services” are just some of the names being given to the phenomena, according to Frost & Sullivan analysts.

On Friday, Dec. 18, Auriga, a software R&D services company with offices in Russia and the United States,
announced availability of “Universal GSM Telemetry,” a framework for development of telemetry and monitoring services. Delivered to Russia-based Compel, an electronics components distributor, “Universal GSM Telemetry” is a customizable, configurable platform that can be used to develop software systems for GSM telemetry, monitoring and remote control. The solution provides a framework to acquire, process, and represent data from remote GSM devices, and also provide means to control the remote devices. Moreover, UT can be deployed to deliver a number of software for mobile devices, including route tracking systems or remote control systems on the basis of a GPS device.

Alert) and Perfecto Mobile that the two companies have jointly launched a service that will enable developers to remotely test their applications on Paca Mobile Center's library of mobile handsets. The mobile handsets of Paca Mobile Center are connected to French wireless networks. Through the partnership, the Perfecto Mobile Handset Cloud service now includes French carrier networks Bouygues, Orange France and SFR, in addition to the major U.K., U.S., Canadian and Israeli operators. Developers can now access a variety of French handsets such as Apple's iPhone, HTC Android, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, LG, Motorola (
