T-Mobile and
Telit Communications have announced global collaboration to leverage the growth potential in the machine-to-machine or M2M marketplace.
The collaboration focuses on marketing and future development of M2M products and services in their target markets, according to official sources.
The team will provide customers with integrated solutions allowing networking of vehicles, machines, measurement and control modules, and other objects along with comprehensive, fully customized services.
M2M applications rationalize business processes by enabling machines, equipment and vehicles to communicate with one another via mobile networks, say industry experts.
Telit, a provider of technologies for mobile machine communication, is reportedly the only company worldwide to offer communications modules for all relevant wireless technologies. The company develops, produces and markets modules for GSM/GPRS, UMTS/WEDGE/HSDPA, CDMA/EVDO and short-range RF applications.

Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile and Telit will bundle their expertise on the basis of a memorandum of understanding, company officials added. The defined objective is to jointly expand the partners’ positions in the growing market for M2M -solutions on an international scale.
The agreement among the companies covers both product development and sales and marketing. In particular, the companies hope to identify relevant target groups in the segments of telematics, fleet management, navigation, smart metering, vending machines and security, they added.
T-Mobile and Telit also announced future plans to jointly develop and market innovative M2M solutions for these target groups.

Alert) Deutschland to jointly develop and market M2M services in Germany.
The M2M services will be based on existing products and services offered by all three partners. This includes Huawei's M2M module that can be used for mobile data transfer via T-Mobile's network, company officials said.
