M2M Alliance is an Initiative open to M2M technology providers and users, offers a forum for ideas exchange, aims to increase awareness of M2M technology and its’ use, supports technical harmonization, and initiates further technical development and cooperation.

The M2M Alliance is working with Horizon House's M2M Zone (News - Alert) to establish a conference at the CeBIT trade show for IT and communications technology.

The M2M Zone Exhibition M2M Zone Conference will be held on March 2-6, at the CeBIT (News - Alert) Fair Grounds in Hannover, Germany.

M2M service providers have joined the Alliance in preparation for the combined event, like Dutch telecom carrier KPN, for which it is an  opportunity to show its bona fides in the M2M growth segment.

'We've already gained a lot of experience in supporting M2M applications fast-and-efficient throughout Europe, and our membership in the Alliance and participation in the M2M Zone gives us the platform to show it,' stated the head of KPN's M2M team, Kim Byberg.

M2M's systems providers will be well represented. Italian M2M module manufacturer Telit is an Alliance member, and the company's VP of marketing Alexander Bufalino explains, 'We look forward to seeing large numbers of visitors directly from important vertical sectors like automotive, energy and utilities, and medical. We'll take the opportunity to show that we are a turnkey M2M solutions provider, and much more than just hardware.' Telit will be joined by other well-established M2M systems suppliers such as Skywave and Cinterion.

The M2M Alliance is an open organization with members representing the entire M2M value chain. Membership of the M2M Alliance is open to all M2M technology providers and users. Its objective is to increase awareness of the opportunities created by wide ranging M2M technology and associated solutions for both business and commerce.
