Comarch Introduces M2M Platform for Mobile Operators


To enable mobile operators to foray into the Machine to Machine market, Comarch reportedly has designed a platform that now has the necessary features for operators to provide services to M2M partners.

Comarch (News - Alert) is one of the leading global suppliers of key industry standard compliant software solutions and services for telecommunications service providers. Comarch’s client list spans across continents which include big market players like T-Mobile International, E-Plus Germany, Vodafone (News - Alert) Germany, Telefonica O2 Germany, as well as MVNO operators such as Auchan Telecom, France.
 
The Comarch M2M platform has been designed to help Telco operators with their M2M business operations. M2M Platforms enable successful M2M business. M2M Platforms is high tech company focusing to M2M communications business. The platform supports operators with the most significant features in the areas of BSS (Business Support Systems) and OSS (Operations Support Systems).
 
It also includes a self service portal for M2M partners, provisioning of services, data mediation, rating of events, inventory, mass SIM cards management, business process management and much more. The integrated Business to Business Gateway (News - Alert) displays certain features of the platform and network directly to partners, which allows them to self-manage and provision their M2M subscriptions.
 
The estimated number of connectable machines is five times more than the number of people who can be connected and the churn rate for M2M subscriptions is very low and with minimal bandwidth requirement. M2M traffic can provide additional sources of revenue for operators coping with fall in revenues from voice services.
 
Piotr Piatosa, vice president Telecommunications, and member of the board for Comarch S.A. , said that M2M is rapidly becoming a significant market segment for mobile operators and can bring about additional revenue.
 
The highlight is that operators can augment this platform to existing systems in the same way that they add Mobile Virtual Network Enablerplatforms to support MVNOMobile Virtual Network Operator. With this type of platform operators can also enter the M2M market without the need for complicated changes to present systems, thereby reducing risks and increasing profitability.
 
Comarch also has the M2M Transaction Gateway in its product portfolio for companies which use M2M communications as part of their services for end customers like electricity suppliers, logistics, insurance or even retail companies. Such enterprises can use M2M Transaction Gateway to perform control, rating and charging processes in their services, with flexible rule-based configuration to support the requirements of individual business types.
