The agreement will allow the extended capabilities to Numerex customers like access to General Packet Radio Service and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access.

M2M solutions need efficient, reliable and secure wireless network connectivity, an application platform that supports the solution, and experts that can help select a communications device.

Numerex’s GSM initiatives in Canada include a high data rate transfer which is required by M2M customers. Numerex’s application tools and expertise combined with Rogers’ state-of-the-art technology will contribute to a fast M2M expansion throughout the country.

With Numerex’s emphasis on reducing the complexity of an M2M product launch, Numerex DNA (Device, Network and Application) is delivered through Numerex FAST (News - Alert) (Foundation Application Software Technology), an Open Platform as a Service.

Numerex DNA effectively combines device, network and application for optimal M2M service delivery. It provides a secure solution for the M2M customer in search of simplification and rapidity of execution through a single point of contact.

Numerex’s experience and expertise in developing applications in remote monitoring and asset tracking on behalf of its customers, expedites the identification of the appropriate technology, network, and device.  The company is also able to accelerate the application development and implementation process as well as the customization of a solution to customer specifications.

Also, Numerex works with a number of partners to offer a wide range of existing satellite and cellular tracking services. Its customer’s solutions provide cost-effective ways of tracking stolen vehicles, containers, barges, commercial equipment, and provide insight into long-haul/short-haul fleet monitoring.

“Numerex’s commitment to providing a seamless and efficient M2M communications footprint in North America is greatly enhanced by our agreement with Rogers,” commented Stratton Nicolaides, Numerex’s chairman and CEO.

“Canada is an important market for Numerex, and our partnership with Rogers ensures that we continue delivering quality one-stop shop services to our existing and future Canadian customers,” added Nicolaides.
