Auto-Finder is the company’s new patented automotive safety product, which guides the user to his/her’s parked vehicle, or whatever the user want to find, even from a distance of half a mile.

The system is the first product developed with company’s Fynder technology, which features patented radio directional finding (RDF) technology, and encompasses company’s patented micro antenna system.

Unlike GPS (global positioning system) technology, the Auto-Finder does not require marking of the location. In addition, the system provides users’ with specific directions that literally point the way to the vehicle in search.Tthe device does not require satellite signals, because it uses RDF technology.

The Auto Finder system primarily encompasses - a pointer remote, which is a battery powered transceiver carried by user and attached to keychain; and Beacon, which is a battery powered transceiver that is mounted in the vehicle. The system consists of LEDs on the pointer remote for showing the direction, speaker for indications, and patented antennas for determining directions.

When the user wants to find a vehicle, he/she is required to press the locate button on the pointer remote that initiates transmissions to the Beacon that is placed inside the vehicle. After receiving signal from the pointer remote, the Beacon confirms the serial number for pairing and once successful transmits signal back to the user, thereby helping to locate the device. The LEDs on the pointer remote will glow in the direction where the vehicle is parked.

In a release, Jim Berntsen, president and CEO of Finder Technologies, said 'More than 3,000 distributors and retailers throughout the U.S. to which Auto Page currently markets and sells their automotive security systems is the ideal channel for providing consumers with more retail locations to buy the Auto-Finder.'

Mike Northup, president of Auto Page, said 'We expect the Auto-Finder to be an attractive source of new revenue for our sales representatives, distributors, retail stores and installers. We think their customers will be as impressed with the Auto-Finder as we are.'

Officials with Finder Technologies said that the company is now licensing its Fynder technology to manufactures that intend to add the company’s patented RDF system for new or existing products.

Torrance, California-based Auto Page, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Iwata Electric Co. of Tokyo, Japan, is one of the vehicle security companies in the U.S offering automotive security products.
