The contract had been awarded, following a highly competitive international tender process, in order to conduct an intensive study of the worldwide market for satellite M2M.
This study, which Beecham called the first of its kind, will assess the current market for Satellite M2M services and also explore the opportunities for market development through new technology initiatives.
Beecham Research, which focuses on the growing M2M market and the increasing use of Remote Device Management and Services, will act as prime contractor for the study. It will be aided by its subcontract partner Astrium, which is a part of the EADS (
News -
Alert) Group, based in Toulouse, France.
'Satellite M2M has enormous potential as part of the M2M World of Connected Services,' Robin Duke Woolley, CEO of Beecham Research, said. Woolley further added that Beecham would work to ensure that the substantial and timely study demonstrated the tremendous prospects for the global Satellite M2M market in the future.
Beecham's partner, Astrium Services, would provide detailed input on satellite technology trends and on commercial application opportunities.

Villevieille added that Astrium was delighted to be working with Beecham Research,and would continue to provide technical expertise and help with recommendations for evolution of future satellite M2M systems.
