M2M DataSmart, a wholesale provider of CDMA-based cellular data airtime services for the machine-to-machine (M2M) market, has signed M2M Ecosystem marketing agreement with an international wireless convergence systems design company Top Global, which is aimed at enabling M2M OEMs, bringing M2M devices to market, to commercially deploy via the Sprint (News - Alert) network.

 

“The M2M market has been 'a square peg trying to fit into a round hole' -- this translated to fixed price airtime plans, no peak-off peak plans, no developments tools, such as test accounts to start development of the M2M Device, no carrier certification support -- resulting in a total lack of support for getting an M2M device to commercial release. Now however, with our M2M Ecosystem, we can be the vehicle to increase that ratio of success for our customers deploying M2M applications,” said David McCartney, Vice President of sales and marketing for M2M DataSmart.

Together, both M2M DataSmart and Top Global (News - Alert) have teamed to provide customers with hardware and M2M cellular air time service. Customers can now have a single point of contact for deployment of M2M devices on the Sprint CDMA network. They believe that this will help the customers with the fastest path to market for new M2M devices.

 

As stated, both the companies enable a suite of CDMA hardware, hardware integration support, test accounts, development kits, value added design resources, application certification support, and M2M airtime.

 

Marketing M2M devices is made quick and easy by building applications around Top Global's CDMA modules/modems and routers that have already been certified by Sprint.

 

Top Global earlier had announced the certification of Gobi embedded router, the Top Global MB7900, which is powered Qualcomm's (News - Alert) Gobi technology. The Top Global MB7900 router gives customers the freedom of secure mobile Internet connectivity on the Sprint 3G Mobile Broadband network, as well as usage virtually anywhere in the world via Sprint roaming partner networks.
