Market demand for Over-the-Air Software updating on Smartphones and Connected Devices has led to 80 percent growth, the company reports. The shipping of these products is proof -- where in 2009, manufacturers had shipped 246 new Red Bend-Enabled device models compared to the 137 shipped in 2008. As per the announcement ,during the fourth quarter,  Red Bend has renewed contract with a top manufacturer and also signed contracts with five new customers, for a total of 57 licenses of its standards-based, cross-platform solutions for mobile software updating and device management.

Despite the worldwide handset shipments declining 5.2 percent in 2009 as per the IDC (News - Alert), market demand for Red Bend's firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating software and Open Mobile Alliance Device Management (OMA-DM) client was strong, particularly for connected wireless devices. This category now accounts for nearly 10 percent of devices with the company's software, driven by operators' need to manage all wirelessly connected devices in a standards-based, unified manner. Red Bend-Enabled devices include smartphones, WiMAX modems, netbooks and machine-to-machine (M2M) modules.

Red Bend CEO, Yoram Salinger informs that 2009 was a very good year for Red Bend, in spite of the challenging global economy. He adds that the company’s customer momentum, market expansion and financials were stronger than ever. The company has renewed and expanded key contracts, added many new customers including Borqs and Fujitsu, and expanded their relationships with two of the respected global operators, China Mobile (News - Alert) and NTT DOCOMO. He emphasizes on his belief that the company performance will remain strong in 2010 as the number of customer engagements under way continues to exceed past years. He concludes that each of the company’s territories is forecasting growth as the company forays into new products and new markets.'

Company experts will be available at the CTIA Wireless (News - Alert) 2010 this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center to discuss and demonstrate the company’s products with prior appointments.
