American Roamer (News - Alert) announced that through a partnership MediaBiz, it has developed a new broadband mapping tool. The first of its kind browser-based application illustrates where and how broadband coverage is available throughout the United States.
“On the heels of the Federal Communication Commission’s national broadband plan, everyone is trying to answer the question ‘what coverage is available and where?’ said Ray Westbrook, senior vice president of American Roamer. “We are proud to work with MediaBiz to provide the only mapping tool available in the market today that makes such in-depth and extensive information easily available for view on a national level.”
“This application will be an invaluable product for companies to use as an analytical tool in a variety of different ways, including competitive analysis, network planning and customer support,” he added.
American Roamer’s new broadband mapping tool includes data on wireless, satellite, cable broadband providers and Wi-Fi hot spots and features adjustable transparent layer views of providers’ coverage patterns that can be easily rearranged. The application, which is currently available on a customized basis per customer, quickly condenses and qualifies coverage details for specific operators, allowing companies to easily visualize and analyze information in a variety of flexible formats. Plus, the tool provides detailed street level data for broadband availability in specific locations.
American Roamer will also be distributing hard copies of its North American Competitive Landscape map that displays where wireless broadband is available, or not available, across the United States to each CTIA (News - Alert) Wireless Show attendee that visits the American Roamer booth. The map also includes individual operator’s spectrum holdings, EBS and BRS licenses, and the percentage of the U.S. population, county by county, covered by mobile 3G.
