TOKA, a provider of trusted access systems for construction equipment, has teamed up with Xact Technology to provide remote access solutions for the heavy equipment market.
TOKA will make use of Xact Trax hardware platform to achieve its objectives. Xact Trax helps the users to track everything from pets to recreational vehicles and construction equipment. There is no need to install any software or wiring to start tracking, claims Xact Technology.
With TOKA products, customers can prevent common problems such as lost keys, common keys, damaged key switches and damaged equipment from unauthorized use. TOKA solutions will not get benefits such as remote starting, geo-fencing and vehicle recovery with Xact's global asset protection system coupled with their proprietary web based tracking portal and their diagnostics and management solutions.
“Each year approximately one billion dollars worth of construction equipment is stolen and less than 15 percent is ever recovered,” said Bill Acevedo, vice president of Business Development for Xact Technology. “Until now, no comprehensive solution has been developed to control illicit use of heavy equipment.”
“TOKA selected Xact Technology as their choice solution for monitoring remote access heavy equipment,” Acevedo said.
The products from this agreement can be used on both 12 and 24-volt systems that are typical of backhoes, tractors, bulldozers, excavators, cranes, man lifts, trucks and a variety of other construction vehicles. TOKA is looking to provide the most comprehensive access systems, GPS tracking solutions and services on the market and the company will make use of Xact Technology's Xact Trax hardware platform, flexible user interface and device management tools for this purpose.
In January this year, Xact Technology partnered with ORBCOMM (News - Alert) to provide comprehensive GPS tracking solutions and services in the market. A variety of solutions are offered including Xact's innovative and customizable Web portal, a scalable hardware platform, ORBCOMM's Network management and M2M enablement capabilities and multiple wireless network options. This partnership will aid enterprise, commercial, consumer and all M2M applications, said the company.
