All of this ensures that ORBCOMM and its customers can enjoy a high level of control over remote devices.

ORBCOMM provides M2M services in a wide range of industries to help users track, monitor and control their mobile and fixed assets. These services allow companies to monitor things that are often in areas beyond reach of terrestrial systems.

Marc Eisenberg, CEO of ORBCOMM said that this move will help them to accelerate their expansion into the growing M2M market. The company will leverage its partnership with Sierra Wireless and the integration of its powerful suite of M2M services and tools, to offer to their customers a unique range of subscription and devices management services and rapidly bring new M2M solutions to the market.

Emmanuel Walckenaer, senior vice president and general manager of Sierra Wireless AirVantage Services Platform and Solutions said that the scale, scope and complexity of this deployment validate the scalability, openness and capability of their AirVantage Services Platform.

They have enabled ORBCOMM to increase the traffic on its unique multi-network infrastructure, bring new subscriptions to its satellite network and its terrestrial network operator partners and provide value-added services to its customers.
