Cinterion Wireless Modules Targets Automotive Sector


Cinterion Wireless Modules has an impressive product portfolio.

Its new AGS3 automotive module, launched at this week’s CTIA (News - Alert) Wireless show, makes significant value addition to its product list, which include high-quality GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSPA products.

Cinterion, which is globally known for its M2M engineering expertise, has strengthened its product base with the addition of “land grid array” technology to its automotive grade modules.

AGS3 comes packed with cutting edge features. Based on solderable LGA surface mounting technology, AGS3 delivers efficient, fully automated manufacturing and process consistency. In addition to these, it is provides with advanced telematics features and functionality.

As noted earlier, Cinterion develops its products with an eye on a wider market. As such diverse range of customers can be benefited by this latest Cinterion module.

AGS3 meets the requirements of the European eCall initiative. It is also for ITS applications such toll collect, telematics, fleet management and emergency call and roadside assistance solutions. It provides GPRS class 12 data speeds on 2G Quad-Band frequencies (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) for worldwide coverage.
