Telular Corporation, a provider of alarm and event monitoring solutions and services, announced that it has augmented its line of residential cellular communicators with the addition of new “Telguard TG-1 Express” cellular residential communicator.
According to a press release, the new Telguard TG-1 Express is the only alarm communicator that is compatible with every security panel. Capable of automatically detecting all alarm formats virtually using dial capture for universal panel compatibility, this new universally compatible communicator provides installers the freedom to proceed with a quick installation regardless of the existing panel encountered at a site.
Consequently, the new cellular residential communicator helps in reducing costs as well as installation time in every cell-only, no-landline, and VoIP home.
In addition, the new TG-1 Express is a next-generation cellular communicator that transmits full data from security and fire systems to central stations by making use of a nationwide digital cellular network. It also utilizes Telguard’s time-tested, superior quality and robust technology and service, say officials.
Furthermore, the TG-1 Express features a small form-factor and can fit in an installer’s back pocket. This UL listed communicator utilizes the power and backup battery of the security panel. This eliminates the need for an available wall outlet.
The Single Line Interface Cable provided with the system enables the power and telephony connection to be sent over a single CAT5 cable. This is very similar to how computer networks use Power over Ethernet. With the help of SLIC option, installers can remotely mount the new system without being limited by the availability of power or the expense of an RF cable run.
Telular’s (News - Alert) TG-1 Express and the company’s full line of Telguard cellular alarm communicators were showcased at ISC West 2010.
“We recognize that the residential security market is in a state of transition because such a large portion of households are getting rid of their landlines. Now, more than ever, cellular is a necessary component for every security system,” said Joe Beatty, president and CEO, Telular. “Telular designed the TG-1 Express so that independent security dealers could standardize on an ideal solution for this growing customer base that isn’t a burden to install or activate.”
Apart from wireless security, Telular Corporation (News - Alert) also offers machine-to-machine, voice, high-speed data, and fax solutions for business and residential customers.
