Telit Wireless Solutions, a specialist in wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) technology, and Eurocomposant have announced that they have signed a distribution contract.
Eurocomposant is a distributor of semi-conductors, displays and embedded products and solutions in France. The company’s main focus is on markets such as transport and logistics, security and digital signage. The newest agreement calls on Eurocomposant to distribute Telit’s M2M solutions and support the module manufacturer in further expanding its position on the French market.
Telit modules are expected to be actively distributed to its existing customers, but it will also target new customers in the embedded market in equal measure. Additionally, Eurocomposant customers are expected to receive access to Telit’s M2M technology as well as they can benefit from the manufacturer’s R&D capacities.
France, which is Europe’s second-largest industrial nation and has an extremely diversified and competitive industrial structure, is one of the world’s most important growth markets for embedded systems, said Felix Marchal, vice president for global sales at Telit Communications (News - Alert). “In the future, we want to play a strategic role in this market.”
Marchal believes that the partnership with Eurocomposant, a company which has both excellent technological expertise and an extremely wide sales network in France, is a key step in this direction.
The distribution contract provides Eurocomposant a direct access to Telit’s M2M solutions for individual wireless architectures in embedded computing, embedded displays and embedded storage. In addition, the company expects to benefit from the Italian module manufacturer’s R&D resources.
Julie Fichot, president and marketing director at Eurocomposant, said that Telit has a clear product strategy and currently has the most complete module range with solutions for all key wireless technologies.
“We can therefore offer our customers complementary products and complete solutions for the embedded market for telematics, security and other industrial applications, to name but a few,” Fichot said.
Additionally, Telit also bundles competences, from development and technical support to product management, together in an integrated service approach, which will significantly benefit both Eurocomposant and its customers, Fichot added.
