Qualcomm has announced that Warberer's will deploy the company's OmniExpress telematics solution to its entire fleet of 2,200 vehicles in Hungary and Romania. To manage its fleet of vehicles, the transport company will also use Qualcomm's (News - Alert) Web-based FleetVisor platform.
OmniExpress enables fleets to track their mobile assets, manage and report on driver hours of service, and retrieve engine and other vehicle data from the FMS CAN-Bus. Qualcomm's OmniExpress solution is now available with two different hardware configurations, ensuring that the specific needs of a wide variety of fleet customers are met.
Waberer's will be able to monitor driver and vehicle activities remotely with the help of integrated OmniExpress system's on-board computer with the vehicle's digital tachograph. The OmniExpress system collects relevant information on vehicle position, driver behaviour and fuel consumption and transmits the data to Qualcomm's network management centre through GPRS, where it is made available to Waberer's staff through the FleetVisor Services portal.
"Waberer's is a strategically important client that will help Qualcomm take a significant step forward in business growth in Eastern Europe," says Bill Karnazes, managing director for Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe. "We look forward to supporting Hungary's largest transport company with the implementation of Qualcomm's OmniExpress fleet management solution, resulting in operational efficiencies for their fleet and drivers," continued Bill Karnazes.
By providing the location information and subsequent progress in-route, the OmniExpress system will help Waberer's to optimise its processes and improve its customer service, which allows Waberer's to provide its customers anticipated loading and unloading times. Enabling Waberer's to improve the efficiency of administrative work required for fleet operations and management, the FleetVisor Services portal is fully integrated with Waberer's TMS system.
