Cinterion and ACL Partner to Develop New Wireless Components


Cinterion Wireless (News - Alert) Modules, a supplier of cellular machine-to-machine, or "M2M," communication modules and Assembly Contracts Ltd, or "ACL," a manufacturer of complete electrical and electronic products, printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies, have entered into a partnership to jointly develop and integrate wireless components based on Cinterion's communication modules.

Officials with Cinterion have said that their modules are based on the GSM and UMTS technology standards, allowing unlimited global mobility and an extensive worldwide coverage map with seamless interwoven roaming coverage. GSM/UMTS (News - Alert) data standards, including GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA, offer reliable connections and high-speed data rates that enable a variety of time sensitive applications.

Cinterion modules are readily customized to suit specific needs and integrate technologies such as Java, GPS, and SIM Access Profile for greater integration flexibility. FTA and local network operator certifications ensure all modules integrate easily into the worldwide GSM network. And all Cinterion products comply with RoHS and WEEE environmental regulations for compliance with legislative directives and with ISO TS 16949 quality benchmarks for automotive product excellence.
