This is part of the company's aim to improve its telematics products unit.

By supplementing accessible information with more event data that can be user-programmed for different thresholds based on individual asset use applications, the addition of an accelerometer improves the value of the MT-13. The accelerometer in the MT-13 is a 3-axis threshold-set trigger. The company has announced that the threshold is set in "Gs" or gravities.

"MOREY's MT-13 is a feature-packed, low cost solution that goes beyond simple asset track and trace to higher level monitoring functions and combines rugged dependability with flexible over-the-air programmability and configuration," said Dana Morey, Executive Vice President for MOREY.  "The Rugged TRAX MT-13 can dramatically increase fleet productivity and accountability and help fleet owners fully utilize, track, and maintain their equipment."

The Garmin (News - Alert) Fleet Management Interface facilitates a complete fleet management solution in conjunction with Garmin portable navigation devices. Dispatch system integration and two-way messaging are the possible applications of this device. Also, to report low/no speed thresholds over a configurable amount of time, idle detection can be used for the development of applications. It also offers backup power and up to 1,000 messages in event of vehicle battery outage.

Recently, X PRIZE Foundation announced details of a unique partnership with Illinois-based MOREY Corporation to benefit the Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE, a $10 million competition designed to inspire a new generation of viable, safe and super fuel-efficient vehicles. MOREY, an innovative Electronics Manufacturing Services company, has been providing award-winning comprehensive design and manufacturing services for over 75 years.
