Management of shipments and deliveries for HealthEx customers in select cities around the country is being done by HealthEx, a specialist courier for healthcare companies, in collaboration with AT&T (News - Alert), provider of wireless, W-Fi, high speed Internet and voice services and also the fastest 3G network in the United States of America. HealthEx with its belief that same standards of quality that apply to the healthcare community should extend to those providing transportation services, will implement an "e-Courier" application on more than 200 AT&T devices to help field teams locate, track and confirm deliveries while on the go as part of the two-year contract.
A variety of AT&T's rugged devices will be used by HealthEx to run its third-party "e-Courier" application. Mobile management of all incoming and outbound shipments to healthcare facilities in New York City, Chicago, and other select cities within New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania is supported by "e-Courier". Field delivery teams will have the ability to manage, track and confirm shipments from virtually any location via their mobile device using this application. Field reps will also be able to use AT&T devices to timestamp the date, time and GPS location to confirm receipt at the time of shipment delivery. This is quickly logged into HealthEx's system via AT&T's 3G network.
According to Michael Montemarano, vice president, HealthEx, the ability to easily track and manage deliveries while on the move is an essential part of the company's business. This ensures that HealthEx knows the location and status of each shipment at all times and can meet the customer's delivery expectations. Montemarano added that with AT&T's reliable network and wide selection of devices, the company is able to take mobile delivery management to a new level. HealthEx looks forward to working with AT&T as HealthEx continues to expand the services into more cities around the country.
Compatible with only larger computer-like devices previously, HealthEx's "e-Courier" application will be able to use the simple, rugged devices offered by AT&T. This will reduce the device size and weight without compromising on durability. By using AT&T's 3G network which is the fastest in the nation, HealthEx will also benefit from accelerated data transfer.
