Telit Wireless Solutions, an M2M communications provider and subsidiary of Telit Communications (News - Alert) PLC, has launched the GE865-QUAD, the smallest grid-array module in the market.
The module has been successfully applied in many fields. Even the GPS radar warning system launched by Coyote Systems, the Personal GPS/GSM tracking system that was launched by EmFinders and QuakeGlobal' s satellite tracking system, have incorporated the GE865 module.
GE865 makes it possible to run the customer' s application inside the module using Python Script Interpreter, thus making it the smallest, complete platform for m2m solutions.
M2M technology has gradually become cost-effective and is bound to play an important rules in home care sector in future. Mounting medical expenses and an increasing aging population are in search of technology solutions that are low in cost but high in quality.
The vice sales president of Telit said that GE865-QUAD will be the key part of the M2M as it applies the Telit unique technology and service program.
Immediate benefits offered by the compact and energy efficient module GE865QUAD have been noticed by companies like EmFinders. It leverages the Telit module and uses it for locating missing people, who are suffering from illness and is also used for monitoring people who are high risk heart patients.
The Telit module is incorporated in a bracelet worn by the patient and in some cases it is worn as a wristwatch. This enables tracking. Canadian tracking specialist Laipac Tech also relies on the Telit module for its AGPS devices that can be converted into an emergency mobile phone if necessary.
M2M has been around for quite some time, and has been used in portable navigation devices. Not only can it help drivers chart a course between two points, but it can monitor speed, keep in memory the places visited, give emergency assistance and render a million other services.
With the development of the AT service, AT orders can be sent via SMS or TCP. In the logistics industry, it can be used to monitor the containers and trucks. The four frequency module can be made applicable throughout the world.
Telit develops, manufactures and markets M2M modules which enable machines, devices and vehicles to communicate via wireless networks. The company is a fast-growing wireless M2M company achieving steadily increasing sales in the last four years, addressing a growing market, and representing substantial business potential.
