Pacific Pride Services, LLC., a subsidiary of Wright Express Corporation , has undertaken the task of guiding fleet drivers to the fueling sites of their choice. For this purpose, it has deployed a location-based iPhone (News - Alert) app, which is powered by MobSpree.

Petroleum marketers can thus create and maintain a branded presence within the Pacific Pride mobile app program. This will not only help promote services and special offers to drivers, but is also a very quick and cost-effective way to make their presence felt.

The free mobile app identifies the drivers' present location and then provides real-time search results for whatever information they want, be it fuel types and services or special promotions and offers.

"We recognized the opportunity to leverage the burgeoning number of fleet drivers who use location-aware smartphones and found a way to develop revolutionary, industry-leading technology for Pacific Pride's independent marketers and their fleet cardholders," Gregory D. Iverson, vice president operations and administration at Pacific Pride, said.

Continuing in the same vein, Iverson added that the app platform transformed expertise into a solution that served all its stakeholders. With the mobile app, drivers could find Pacific Pride locations quickly and easily.

Even franchisees stood to benefit from the mobile app, for they could deliver customized solutions to customers and build on existing relationships while adding new ones.

Company officials said that the new application was available at the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone App Store and was expected to be available for other leading smartphones as well in the near future..

Fuel providers within the network would receive a basic directory listing, and marketers would have the option to upgrade their presence in the new application. They could also monitor their effectiveness through analytical tools and reports.

MobSpree is a flexible and easy-to-use platform that helps brands, retailers, malls, conferences and other multi-location businesses leverage mobile relationship marketing to drive revenue and maximize profits.

In a related news item, Wright Express Corporation announced  that it has joined the PCI (News - Alert) Security Standards Council as a new participating organization. As a Participating Organization, Wright Express will work with the Council to evolve the PCI Data Security Standard and other payment card data protection standards.
