AT&T and Cinterion Wireless Launch AT&T Connection Kit


AT&T and Cinterion Wireless Modules, a supplier of cellular machine-to-machine communication modules, have teamed up to launch the AT&T (News - Alert) Connection Kit for device developers with Cinterion Wireless Modules.

Officials with AT&T said that combining Cinterion's (News - Alert) modules with the company's fastest 3G network and industry-leading service delivery platform, the quick-start kit contains everything needed to develop HSPA specialty wireless solutions for machine-to-machine applications for virtually any industry or vertical market.
 
Company officials said that the AT&T Connection Kit program provides the tools and environment necessary to streamline device development and optimize performance on AT&T's 3G network.
 
According to company officials, the newest kit leverages Cinterion's next generation HC25 module, which supports both Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA frequencies for worldwide functionality, enabling sophisticated enterprise devices and solutions such as PDAs, industrial handhelds and more.
 
The AT&T Connection Kit, company officials said also includes AT&T SIM cards, data capacity for testing, access to AT&T Control Center, powered by Jasper Wireless (News - Alert), and best practice guidelines to bring approved devices to market faster than ever before.
 
"Cinterion believes that virtually all businesses and industries can improve the bottom line with intelligent M2M wireless technology," said Peter Fowler, regional president, Americas, Cinterion Wireless (News - Alert) Modules, in a statement.
 
Fowler said that together with AT&T, the company is making it easier than ever for developers to make wireless a reality and accelerate the adoption of M2M around the world.
 
 "Our goal is to deliver the power of wireless to businesses and consumers in new and innovative ways," said Glenn Lurie, president of emerging devices, AT&T.
 
Lurie said that by teaming with Cinterion, the company is able to provide M2M developers with the highest-quality, industry benchmark modules while simplifying the integration process for virtually any company or industry that could benefit from a faster wireless connection.
