The most successful corporate adopters of machine-to-machine technology and the team of solution providers that made their success possible, highlighting the process of combining multiple technologies and how all of the elements of the M2M value chain create a winning solution for the end customer, are honored by the Connected World Magazine's M2M Value Chain Awards.

'We are proud of the recognition and happy to utilize the technology. We are showcasing Zonar's capabilities and improving our efficiency. This is a great partnership,' Goodfellow Bros. vice president Chad Goodfellow, stated.

Goodfellow Bros., Inc. is a large heavy civil construction company with a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment across three states, including Hawaii. The company's commitment to safety motivated it to implement the Zonar fleet management system.

"It is an honor to work with the team at Goodfellow Bros. and to have our collaborative solutions recognized," Brett Brinton, president of Zonar Systems, said. "Providing innovative, customer-focused solutions has always been and always will be our focus at Zonar."

With the help of the Zonar's solutions, Goodfellow Bros. are provided with the ability to enhance their maintenance program and save the company time and money by giving them the ability to remotely track engine hours, trace vehicle location, fulfill required pre- and post-trip safety inspections, and check fluid levels and other vehicle and equipment information.

A combination of Zonar products is utilized by Goodfellow Bros. which includes:

EVIR - an easy-to-use tag (News - Alert) and inspect system that ensures pre- and post-trip inspection compliance while eliminating paperwork and speeding vehicle repair

V2TM HD-GPS - provides next generation GPS capabilities that deliver real-time fleet performance, location and tracking data, in one simple-to-install device

Ground Traffic ControlTM - a powerful web-based data management application that provides a real-time picture of fleet operations with unmatched visibility, ease and control

Maintenance and repairs are automatically scheduled by the system when pre-defined limits are reached. In the case of a problem or emergency, it also calls for immediate service often before the operator is even aware of the issue.

Goodfellow Bros, with the help of Zonar's system saved more than $56,000 in the first year by reducing idle time alone and has also recovered stolen vehicles.  Also, by automating communication between Goodfellow's equipment and the people responsible for ensuring its operational effectiveness, Zonar's system has also helped it save countless hours.

"I have been in maintenance for 35 years and have not seen anything like Zonar. It is a dream come true. Zonar has taken us to a whole new level. I want everyone to know you are only limited by your imagination and that Zonar is an amazing group of people to work with," John Stump, Equipment Manager at Goodfellow Bros, said.

In related news, during a formal gala at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place hotel in Chicago, Ill., on June 17, 2010, the winners of the prestigious 2010 M2M Value Chain Awards were presented by Connected World magazine.
