News -
Alert) Inc., a major provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, announced the selection of WebTech Wireless' Quadrant solution for the development of remote vehicle management in their fleet by Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). This latest implementation will include more than 500 vehicles, taking the total KOC installations so far to over 1,000 vehicles of all types. Automak Automotive Co. and KGL Car Rental officially lease their vehicles to KOC.
Wi-Fi enabled WT5800 Locators are incorporated in KOC's Quadrant solution enabling fleet managers to remotely obtain vehicle odometer and speed data whenever vehicles pass any of the KOC depots and filling stations. Using this information, managers will be able to improve efficiency and safety by detecting and controlling high speeding and reducing unnecessary mileage, helping in preserving the vehicle resale values.
One of the unique features of this implementation is that, unlike most fleet management systems, as a condition of the company's employee privacy policy, actual vehicle location records are not collected by KOC. Also for further increasing the safety and security of their fleet, KOC has installed Driver ID Kits permitting vehicle operation only by an authorized driver.
In a release, Harald Fritz, the vice president of sales quadrant fleet solutions at WebTech Wireless said, 'We're seeing that the oil and gas industry worldwide has very unique fleet management requirements that can vary considerably by region and operating environment. The solution provided to the KOC with a WLAN connected WT5800 Locator and Driver ID Kits, once again demonstrates our ability to provide customized solutions to companies such as KOC, as well as work with multiple organizations to exceed customer expectations."
