Berkshire, U.K.-based Siretta Antennas, a provider of machine-to-machine “M2M” antennas, announced that it has rolled out a new 10dBi gain dual band TNC female external whip antenna, Oscar 12, which is designed for GSM / GPRS connectivity.
In a press release, David Taylor, business manager of Siretta, said that Oscar 12 is the first release in the company’s high gain Oscar series and is targeted for industrial GSM/GPRS, 3G and 2.4GHz applications.
The new Oscar 12 is a bracket mounted antenna. It provides double digit gain RF performance. Designed for office or base station installations, the new antenna offers a 10dBi, omni-directional performance across 900 & 1800MHz GSM and GPRS networks.
In addition, the new Oscar 12 features a radiating section of multiple dipoles arranged as a colinear and housed in a reinforced, UV protected 810 x 22mm enclosure. The base consists of a TNC female connector that can be connected with a mating cable assembly. This facilitates for a flexible approach to individual installation requirements.
According to Siretta, Oscar 12’s ridged mounting bracket offers secure fixing to buildings, allowing a 200mm stand off between wall and antenna. It is vertically polarized and has a maximum power rating of 25 Watts.
In addition, the new Oscar 12 is ideal for improving transmission and reception in fringe coverage areas where omni directional performance is still required.
Taylor further said that Oscar 12 is built for customers who need to ensure good Quality of Service levels. The company has already received exceptional feedback from beta customers and expects that this trend to continue as greater performance is expected from telemetry equipment.
