ClearConnex Steps in to fill Microsoft's ' HyperTerminal Void with ClearTerminal

Microsoft (News - Alert) has wireless device software developers scrambling with the release of the Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Microsoft has decided that they will no longer ship the HyperTerminal application with their operating systems. To fill in the void left by this decision, ClearConnex has stepped in with ClearTerminal, a free Windows compatible download.

The new windows download is available for free at www.clearconnex.com/freedownload.

ClearTerminal is a terminal application program that focuses on the needs of wireless device developers. It is a full-featured tool set that is similar to the terminal application that used to ship with Microsoft operating systems earlier.

This is just another example of how ClearConnex continues to find new ways to simplify M2M device software development and speed time to market.

Ryan Rangel, CTO of ClearConnex, stated that without HyperTerminal, there were no free downloads that could provide the comprehensive tool set that is necessary for M2M device software development.

Rangel is of the opinion that there are many advantages to the HyperTerminal-like tool. Some of the advantages that the HyperTerminal presents are that it is free, it is user friendly and it has even more useful features for wireless developers than the Microsoft Windows version of HyperTerminal ever did. Rangel further added that these features are not available with any other free terminal program.

Rangel has planned big things for the future releases of ClearTerminal. He explained that they were looking to add manufacturing testing features and scripting for device regression testing as well as integration with their ClearComm test server to help customers develop with their ClearComm software device platform.
