The company is also after faster development and more commercial dominance of in-car information systems for the North America and Europe markets, as well as for China and other rising markets.
Tasuhiko Izumi, the president of Clarion, stated that by incorporating the Terminal Model technology into in-car information systems like car navigation built by Clarion, Clarion can bring the broad range of applications and services available to smartphones on in-car devices to its customers. Consumers' user experience will be improved with the integration of in-car devices with smartphones. This integration will also lead to major changes in in-car information systems.
It will be possible to use smartphone functions and services for in-car information system functions and support services like advanced driver assistance systems, intelligent transport systems, and navigation coordination through a solid partnership with Nokia and NAVTEQ (

Alert), which supplies Clarion's car navigation systems in overseas market with map information.
